One thing that I love the most about fall fashion and what to wear to fall weddings is that fall wedding fashions are all about vintage styles and metallic clothing.  You have to think and remember old styles in Hollywood from the 1920′s and Hollywood Glam.  Think Victor Victoria styled clothing and gowns and also fur or fake fur coats and jackets.  Its about having layers of clothing that completely change looks when you take one off.

When you arrive at the wedding you want to show off the long fur coat or a fur shawl with a long trench coat.  Try to have a silky or satin linings on the inside so when you take it off to show a pencil styled skirt or piped gown it’ll show it off and make everyone take a second glance.  If you aren’t into piping or pencil skirts and tops for fall weddings, you cannot go wrong with gowns and vintage styled dresses in metallic golds and silvers.  Not only are these looks timeless and the colors ideal, but you could do gowns that are low cut in the back with a bottom that flows in layers or you could do vintage styled fall gowns with petals flowing down or even solids that you could picture on Marilyn Monroe or even on the fun blond girl from the movie version of Victor Victoria.  For hair, do a nice vintage style with waves and bobby pins and you can also accent it with a decoration if you would like to.  All of those make sense to wear to fall weddings.  But what about the jewelry.  The jewelry for Fall Weddings has to be vintage styled but also with a modern twist if you cannot afford real jewels and vintage jewelry.

If you can do antique jewelry and can afford the gems then you should stick to colors of gold and silver that match the metallic gold and silver gowns.  For gem stones to add the pop of color in you need to stick with emeralds or rubies or if you can find extremely deep or rich purple amathysts, do that but make sure you have a large dark purple amathyst ring with a large stone to show off the gown.  For emeralds and emerald earrings you’ll want to do bracelets and if you go the ruby earring route than match it with a red ruby and gold ring with a gold metallic gown.  Do not match red rubies with silver gowns for fall.  You can however get away with red and silver in the winter if you hate the bride, but you cannot do that in the fall.

The other style and look that works amazingly well for fall weddings are 1970′s styled clothing that you make modern with asymetrical cuts and modern colors and fabrics.  Take great lines and fashionable sillouettes and completely amazing shoes, you don’t need platform but do cool backs and styles for the sides and you’ll look amazing for the wedding.  For jewelry, find vintage styled but more modern looking jewelry because the 70′s are over and you shouldn’t do full bell bottoms and hippy styled jewelry.  Instead wear vintage styled modern designs that are chic, sort of emo and classic at the same time.  For both styles you can do the chunky jewelry or you can do thin or slimmer jewelry that creates lines instead of draws attention.  Either way works for fall weddings and one of my very favorite stores to recommend you shop for vintage styles but modern looks has to be waxing poetic.
